One of the main reasons people first think about writing a book is due to the income factor. But this isn’t the case!
The sales on books are not likely going to make you a millionaire.
However, there are many other reasons you should write a book.
The first is: sharing a message with the world. At the core of any book is the message – and that could be a lesson learned, an educational aspect or even entertainment.
The other reason is exposure. When you have a book available to consumers, you are not only putting your name out there but also your brand or company. You’ll be listed in storefronts like Amazon (which means people can find your book directly or even stumble upon it by accident). This exposure will drive traffic to your websites or other products/services.
Another reason: credibility and trust. By having a book available, you’re telling consumers that you have knowledge and expertise in the area in which you wrote the book. Even if you didn’t when you started, through your research, time and efforts put into the book – by the end, you will be somewhat of an expert. This looks great on your website and shows visitors and consumers that you’ve placed your knowledge, expertise and time into something and that makes them more likely to trust you. If you have multiple books on a certain topic or area of interest – you’ll really be solidifying your expertise in the area.
