Let’s say you’re starting a blog business and now you want to get a domain name that perfect domain name but that domain name is taken.
Oops, so what do you do now?
So we all want the perfect domain name.
Here I am looking for domain names on Porkbun.com which is an awesome place to get domain names.
And let’s say you’re looking for an awesome blog so awesomeblog.com and it is taken.
You have two options~ choose a different domain name or choose a different extension.
And I will say that in the past I would just choose a different domain name but now there’s so many extensions out there that these extensions have become so powerful and recognize that you could just go with a different extension.
Let me share with you a couple of great extensions that you could go with if that name is taken and especially depending on your niche you may want to cater towards something versus another.
So let’s say I have a cooking blog but this domain name is taken what I could do is look for an extension that makes sense or useful.
There is also a popular extension .biz.
Another one which is popular for companies is columbia extension .co, it is like .com but instead it is .co.
Some extensions are more expensive because of the demand.
If you’ve got a recipe site crockpotmeals.recipes this could be actually the perfect domain name because now it puts you right into that category and I would assume that google and many other search engines are going to start putting you into the bracket.
So if you’re more like in the art space you’ll have a design extension, if you got an app it’ll be a .app extension and so on and so forth.
There are ton of other extensions out there you can definitely check out.
If you’re doing something like a makeup tutorial or training then you could go .beauty.
If you’ve got a cafe, coffee shop or you’re doing coffee related things like coffee recipes, you could use .cafe.
Just understand that some of them the renewal will be a little bit more versus others.
