Hey this is Sasha and today I want to share with you some advanced features of the ordered list.
If you’re looking for doing bullets, or really creating ordered list, I want to share with you some more advanced features by using the attributes within the HTML to create some specific or unique ordered list. Let’s take a look at the HTML and see an example.
Let’s take a look at the HTML and see an example.
HTML Ordered Lists
Okay so what I’ve done here is create a little split screen and just to give you some notes of these different variations — basically, in order to create our ordered list, if you recall, it would be OL and then the closing OL.
Now with the inside of this, we’re creating the LI or the list item. You could go ahead and say, ‘this is peach’. Then we’ll go into another one and we’ll create a pair. We’ll create another one that will be, let’s say, ‘juice’. Then the next one will be ‘grapes’.
We have our basic ordered list. You can see right there that it counts one, two, three, four.

If I went ahead and just duplicated this for speed purpose — now if we refresh it, you can see there are eight records right there. When it comes to ordered list, you do have an attribute with the type attribute.
If I go ahead and type that in, here are some of the different variations that you could do. If I go ahead with the number one, you won’t see any difference right there. This is one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, and eight. There is no difference.
If I type A, and I’m just going to hit save, notice and watch what’s going to happen here. They go A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H. They number it by using letters.

If I do a lower case A — lower case A is going to give me lower case letters. If I do an upper case ‘I’, it will be numbered with upper case Roman Numerals. So you can see Roman Numerals right there. And if I do a lower case ‘i’, it will be numbered with lower case Roman Numeral numbers.
You can see how these could be helpful in certain situations, especially as the list continues to grow. But you can see that when it comes to Roman Numerals, to get that far down may not be the best approach.

It really just depends on the list that you’re creating, but these are the variations that you can have when you’re building your lists.
