If you’re not doing email marketing, it’s essential that you start doing it.
How do you Start Email Marketing?
Start creating those opt-in forms and collect that email address. You start inputting them not only on your website but pushing people there from your YouTube videos, Pinterest your Twitter. Give people away freebies and goodies and anything that you can to collect those email lists.
Once you have an email list, you can start building connections, relationships, and eventually selling products and services to that audience. And there’s a lot of great reasons to go with email marketing.
Here’s some thought on why you should do email marketing instead of social media or other methods.
#1 Building a Connection

When you’re building a connection, it’s just like building a relationship with friends.
When you’re building this relationship eventually, you can create this win-win relationship. Your friend might help you out with some plumbing, and you might help your friend out with some grass cutting services.
Maybe he’s a technology expert so he’ll help you up with that. And perhaps you’re a handy person, so you’ll help them out with that. It creates this win-win relationship, and that’s what building a connection is about.
In your case, you’re adding value to the person. And eventually, that person will buy a product or service. And then you get compensated for it in that way.
Building a connection and relationship helps create this win-win relationship.
#2 – Direct Connection

It’s not just building a relationship, but it’s directly connected. Whereas on social media, this is what happens.
When you’re on any website like Facebook or Twitter, you post something, but after about three days, that post is gone. Sometimes in a day. Not necessarily that it’s deleted, but it’s buried under there.
How often do you see people scrolling back to ten years ago looking and reading those posts? It’s very rare to almost none. When you’re making an email list and when you shoot this email to somebody, they’re going to get it in their inbox probably within a few days.
The chance of them opening is way higher than something like Facebook. You have a direct connection. It’s like having somebody’s cell phone number or their address. You have a direct line to them. And that’s very powerful and very important.
#3 – Highly Targeted

It’s a highly targeted list. Let’s say I make videos about massage therapy, how to get rid of lower back pain.
This list is now highly targeted. It’s specific to the massage people, people who are interested in massage. And that’s specific. Later, when you send them value offers, reports, any product or service, they’re already interested in massages.
With this highly targeted newsletter list, you don’t have to talk to ten thousand people to get a sale. Your conversion rate is higher. You can have a very specific list of people that are more likely to buy or purchase your product or service.
It’s like asking a thousand people if they’re interested in buying a new car at the mall. Well, it’s not very targeted. But if you ask a thousand people who are at the dealership already, chances are more of them will be ready to get a new car sometime soon.
That’s what highly targeted is all about. You don’t have to waste your time and energy.
#4 – Less Expensive

Since you’re focused on these people (it’s a very targeted, laser-targeted), it’s less expensive. And not only that. We can talk about automation, as well.
Because of the automation, it makes it less expensive. Email marketing is less expensive compared to talking on the phone, sending regular post mail or a postcard in the mail.
Not only that, you have the shipping fees the packaging fees. It’s expensive, timewise. With email marketing, it’s much cheaper because you can automate the process.
#5 – Automation

You can create systems, if this thing happens, then send out this newsletter list. And if that thing happens, if they click a link or something like that, do this.
If it doesn’t happen, do that. You can set up these systems that do different things nowadays, even with basic email marketing campaigns.
And this is the five big things and five reasons why email marketing is so powerful. You get to build a connection, and it’s a direct connection. It’s a direct line to somebody. It’s highly targeted. It’s less expensive, and you’re automating things.
Final Thoughts
If you’re interested in getting an email marketing or newsletter company, you need somewhere to host your list. That’s because you can’t just send out 5,000 emails from your personal Gmail account.
